Haskell Regional Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy (HRHOP) is an open-door community retail pharmacy which currently services the filling of prescriptions for the HRH hospital and associated clinics, the NWA-ECH Health plan (NWA) and, in the near future, the Healthy Oklahoma Health plan (HOK). HRHOP serves as the preferred retail and mail option for all covered plan members in the state of Oklahoma.
This Pharmacy in charge (PIC) is the senior leader overseeing all operational and clinical aspects of the outpatient pharmacy, both locally in Oklahoma, and eventually nationally as we expand to all 50 states. Under the direction of the VP of Pharmacy, the PIC is responsible for the leadership, management, direction, and performance of all aspects and activities related to the retail pharmacy, including but not limited to: fulfillment, inventory control, delivery success of any traditional retail and/or Specialty Pharmacy scripts, accountability for any and all service performance / customer satisfaction standards, clinical performance and metrics, and advocating for any needed system processes, investments, etc. Works with leadership to determine the pharmacy’s strategic plan and execution; Oversees development of policies and procedures, hiring, training, coaching, etc.
The PIC will ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are satisfied with the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy (OSBP). Additionally, the PIC will ensure that pharmacy services and activities are carried out to meet the mission, goals, and standards of HRH.
Job Summary:
Responsibilities
· Lead and supervise all pharmacy activities, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations.
Maintain full compliance with all applicable State Boards of Pharmacy regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
· Oversee medication dispensing.
· Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating pharmacy policy and procedures.
· Evaluate medication cost savings - Brand vs Generics, OTC products, copay assistance, discount cards, and patient assistance programs.
· Oversee all aspects of compliance in the 340B drug savings program.
· Manage accurate inventory, including stock levels, ordering, and medication storage to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
· Maintains records such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, POS files, and inventory files.
· Provide clinical pharmacy services such as patient assessment and medication therapy management.
· Ensures accurate processing of insurance claims. Comply and complete 3rd party audit as requested.
· Collaborate with healthcare providers on medical management plans for diverse patient populations.
Oversees mail order workflows to certify compliance with policies and procedures, protect product integrity, preserve cold chain when appropriate, and mitigate risk of packages being shipped incorrectly or lost.
· Support the development of pharmacy staff through training in pharmacy technician supervision, medication safety practices, and new clinical protocols.
· Manage the pharmacy team and environment.
Skills
· Proven experience in retail/clinical pharmacy roles with a focus on patient service, assessment skills, and medical management.
· Ability to evaluate patient needs for medication administration while considering physiology knowledge and pain management strategies.
· Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams; committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
· Ability to learn and utilize the pharmacy management system (Rx30) and electronic medical records (CPSI-Thrive).
Other Responsibilities
· Participate in required training, continuing education, staff meetings, and performance improvement initiatives
· Support orientation for new pharmacy staff and/or pharmacy students/interns
Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy required.
· Current, unrestricted Oklahoma Pharmacist license.
· Additional pharmacist licensure in non-resident states may be required within 6 months of hire.
· Previous call center or mail order pharmacy work experience preferred.
· Previous management experience preferred.
· 340B knowledge or Apexus Certification a plus.
Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
