Position Summary & Objective
The Press Helper handles all print, conversion, and finishing steps for assigned jobs, ensuring
quality and timely completion. This role ensures accurate paperwork, supplying materials,
holding tools, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Reviews job specifications to determine product requirements, including appearance
and performance.
- Verifies accuracy of materials and supplies (e.g., print plates, cylinders, inks, coatings,
dies).
- Inspects products for defects (spots, streaks, scratches, etc.) and correct as needed.
- Adheres to quality and security protocols, including inspection, splicing, winding,
labeling, and product disposition.
- Completes paperwork for time and materials, maintaining job and lot separation with
clear labels.
- Consults with Quality Assurance on product standards and deviations.
- Keeps the pressroom clean and organized, ensuring clean-up and product disposition.
- Follows building security guidelines and handle security products and waste
appropriately.
Position Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
