About the Opportunity
Foundry Heating & Air is a newly established, privately owned HVAC company preparing to serve homeowners throughout Central Minnesota.
We're looking for an experienced HVAC professional who wants more than another technician job.
As our founding Lead HVAC Technician / Service Manager, you'll have the opportunity to help build our service operation from the ground up. You'll initially work in the field while helping establish the technical standards, equipment, processes, and practices that will guide the company as we grow.
We're looking for someone who knows the trade, takes pride in doing things correctly, treats customers well, and is excited by the opportunity to eventually help develop and lead a team of HVAC professionals.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose, service, maintain, and repair residential heating and cooling systems
- Perform and/or oversee HVAC equipment replacements and installations
- Help establish Foundry's service and installation standards
- Help determine service-vehicle tooling, equipment, and parts inventory
- Provide input on equipment brands, suppliers, and purchasing decisions
- Help develop pricing, service procedures, maintenance practices, and quality-control standards
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners
- Ensure work meets applicable codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety requirements
- Help recruit, train, and mentor additional technicians as the company grows
- Eventually assume greater responsibility for the technical and field operations of the company
What We're Looking For
- Significant hands-on residential HVAC service experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with furnaces, air conditioning systems, and common residential HVAC equipment
- Ability to perform high-quality service and repair work independently
- Understanding of proper HVAC installation practices
- EPA Section 608 certification, as applicable to job duties
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Dependable, professional, and self-directed
- Leadership or mentoring experience is preferred but not required
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and is interested in helping build something rather than simply filling a position.
