Title: Dispatcher / Customer Service Rep – Plumbing & Heating (Nassau County)
About Us: AJ Services Plumbing & Heating is a family-owned company serving Nassau County for 20+ years. We have 250+ 4.8-star reviews because we answer the phone, show up when we say we will, and treat customers right. We’re growing and need a sharp dispatcher / CSR to be the voice of the company.
Role: You will answer inbound calls, calm stressed homeowners, gather details, and schedule the right tech at the right time. You will keep our three trucks running on-time and fully booked.
What You’ll Do
- Answer inbound calls from homeowners and book service appointments
- Ask the right questions to understand urgency and type of job
- Dispatch technicians based on location, skill, and schedule
- Confirm jobs, update customers, and handle reschedules
- Enter accurate notes in the CRM and keep the schedule board clean
- Track missed calls and call back quickly
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years in a phone-heavy role (dispatcher, CSR, medical office, call center, etc.)
- Strong communicator: calm, clear, and confident with upset customers
- Very organized and detail-oriented; can juggle multiple calls and schedules
- Comfortable with basic computer work and learning new software
- Excellent written and spoken English. Accurate spelling and grammar are required (you will be entering customer information, job notes, and messages for technicians).
- Experience in plumbing/HVAC/electrical office is a plus, not required
Compensation & Schedule
- Hourly pay: $23–$25/hr to start (depending on experience)
- Performance bonus up to $500/month based on:
- Percentage of inbound calls answered live
- Percentage of calls that become booked jobs
- Full-time schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Benefits:
- 1 week paid sick leave per year
