LowCarb Avenue is a family-owned, start-up commercial bakery specializing in artisan, low-carb breads and baked goods. We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Assistant Baker / Bakery Production Assistant to join our growing team.
No previous bakery experience is required, we are willing to train the right person. This role is ideal for someone who is a fast learner, dependable, organized, and eager to work in a busy commercial bakery environment. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with our company long-term and become part of a strong team.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting bakers with daily production tasks
- Helping with mixing, shaping, proofing, baking, cooling, slicing, packaging, and labeling bakery products
- Preparing ingredients and organizing production areas
- Following recipes, instructions, and production schedules carefully
- Helping keep the bakery clean, organized, and food-safe
- Working around commercial bakery equipment such as large ovens, mixers, proofers, racks, and packaging equipment
- Lifting and moving ingredients, trays, racks, and bakery supplies as needed
- Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Communicating clearly with team members and managers
Requirements:
- No bakery experience required - we will train
- Must be a fast learner and willing to follow instructions carefully
- Fluent in English and able to clearly communicate with the team
- Must be able to reliably commute to Frederick, Maryland
- Comfortable working night shifts, early morning shifts, and weekends as needed
- Able to lift 50+ lb bags of flour and other bakery ingredients
- Comfortable working around heavier commercial bakery machinery, including large mixers and ovens
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay alert in a busy production environment
- Organized, clean, and dependable
- Able to work well with a team and remain calm under pressure
- Prompt, punctual, and reliable
- Interested in a long-term position with a growing company
