American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) - Pediatrics for a nights pediatric respiratory care position requiring RRT certification and prior children's hospital experience preferred.

Pediatric Respiratory Care department serving all age levels within the department's scope
-
Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week

26-week contract with guaranteed 48 hours per week

Previous experience in a children's only hospital preferred

Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program

Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner - license required if applicable

Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care

RRT credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire

BLS certification required upon hire (AHA)
-
ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire (AHA)

Minimum of one year of respiratory care experience required

Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred

Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair
-
Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac systems across all patient ages
-
Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff
-
Document treatment information and patient responses in the computerized medical record
-
Act as a resource for medical staff on respiratory care matters
-
Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
-
Provide age-appropriate respiratory care to patients
-
Ensure respiratory equipment is properly cleaned and maintained
-
Maintain respiratory therapy records
-
Serve as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
-
Facility has strict compliance deadlines and requires onboarding documentation to begin immediately upon booking
-
Returning travelers may extend a contract only once for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month separation before applying for another contract
