Overview
Apiary Fine Catering & Events is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented dishwasher to support our culinary and event operations. The dishwasher plays an essential role in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen while ensuring our culinary team has the equipment and service ware necessary to execute exceptional events.
Essential Responsibilities
- Thoroughly wash, sanitize, dry, and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary dishwashing area throughout each shift.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, equipment, and other back-of-house areas.
- Support culinary and service teams by keeping clean equipment, dishes, and supplies readily available throughout service.
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, loading, unloading, transportation, and organization of catering equipment and service ware as needed.
- Travel to off-site catering venues and maintain the same high standards of cleanliness and organization at each event.
- Safely lift, carry, load, and unload heavy pots, dishware, crates, catering equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with basic kitchen and food preparation duties as directed by culinary leadership.
- Properly clean and store equipment and supplies following each event.
- Work efficiently and professionally during high-volume service periods.
- Communicate effectively with chefs, kitchen staff, servers, event staff, and management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, catering, hospitality, or commercial kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy items.
- Ability and willingness to travel to off-site event locations as required.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to report to various event locations as scheduled.
- Flexibility to worklate nights, particularly during weddings, special events, and high-volume catering periods.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends and event-based schedules as needed.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
This is a physically active position requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, carrying, and repetitive work.
Because our events take place at a variety of locations, candidates must be willing and able to travel for off-site events, assist with loading and unloading equipment, and work in different kitchen and venue environments.
