Maintenance Mechanic – Aluminum Extrusion | Astro Shapes
Astro Shapes is seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to support and maintain aluminum extrusion manufacturing equipment and related systems.
Primary Responsibilities & Technical Requirements:
· Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair aluminum extrusion presses, including:
o High-pressure hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, manifolds, cylinders)
o Billet heaters, loaders, and handling systems
· Maintain and repair runout tables, pullers, quench systems, stretchers, and saws
· Diagnose and repair pneumatic systems, including air valves, cylinders, and regulators
· Troubleshoot electrical systems: motors, drives, sensors, limit switches, starters, and basic control circuits
· Perform mechanical maintenance on gearboxes, bearings, chains, conveyors, and rotating equipment
· Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
· Welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG/Stick) to support equipment repair and modification is a plus
Qualifications:
· Prior experience in an aluminum extrusion or heavy industrial manufacturing environment strongly preferred
· Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends
· Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
