We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our service and repair operations within a busy dealership environment. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop operations, ensuring timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians, providing technical guidance and performance feedback
- Oversee heavy equipment repairs including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform diagnostics on automotive systems such as transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and diesel engines
- Manage fabrication projects involving welding, assembly, and equipment repair to meet safety standards and customer specifications
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and technical issues to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and automotive diagnostics
- Extensive mechanical knowledge across various machinery including Caterpillar equipment, tractor-trailers, industrial machinery, and farm equipment
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance devices
- Ability to read schematics accurately for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulic components
- Experience with vehicle maintenance tasks such as brake repair, wheel alignment, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, and suspension work
- Strong understanding of transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC systems, hydraulics, and diesel engine repair
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
- Valid certifications or licenses related to heavy equipment operation or automotive repair are preferred but not mandatory
