Vice President of Sales
The Vice President of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the company's sales strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and strengthen customer relationships within the industrial manufacturing and capital equipment industry. This executive leader provides strategic direction for all sales and business development activities while collaborating closely with engineering, operations, project management, and executive leadership to align customer needs with the organization's capabilities.
The Vice President of Sales is responsible for building and leading a high-performing sales organization, identifying new market opportunities, expanding strategic customer relationships, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from initial engagement through project completion.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans that support the company's long-term growth objectives.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Establish annual sales goals, revenue targets, forecasts, and budgets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within targeted industries and geographic markets.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, OEMs, distributors, system integrators, and strategic partners.
- Lead negotiations for complex commercial agreements while managing contractual and business risks.
- Oversee the preparation of quotations, proposals, pricing strategies, and sales presentations.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management to ensure customer requirements are accurately defined and successfully executed.
- Monitor sales pipeline activity, forecasting accuracy, and CRM utilization.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
- Develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with market competitiveness.
- Participate as a member of the executive leadership team, providing strategic input on company growth initiatives.
- Support new product development by communicating customer needs and market intelligence.
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, industry associations, and networking events.
- Develop strategic account plans for major customers and key market segments.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve sales effectiveness.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top sales talent while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present sales forecasts, business reports, and market analyses to executive leadership.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through proactive communication, issue resolution, and long-term relationship management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and applicable industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience, including at least 5 years in a senior sales leadership role.
- Demonstrated success leading sales organizations within industrial manufacturing, machine tools, automation, custom equipment, or capital equipment industries.
- Strong understanding of consultative selling and complex capital equipment sales cycles.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Executive-level negotiation, contract management, and customer relationship management experience.
- Strong financial and business acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and sales performance analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel approximately 40–60% as business needs require.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
