Summary: Goodrich Area Schools is seeking a full-time high school Spanish teacher who is passionate about teaching all children and working in a collaborative environment with an amazing team of educators.
Qualifications and Requirements

Must have a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate; FF endorsement required.

Must meet highly qualified status for Every Student Succeeds Act.

A proven track record of or experience increasing student achievement and closing the achievement gap.

Strong collaborative skills are critical. Experience with PLC’s is desirable.

The ability to thrive in a team-centered environment.

A student-centered, whole child approach to teaching and learning is preferred.

A self-directed thinker and problem solver.

Ability to create lesson plans, utilize multiple instructional strategies and promote critical thinking and inquiry based learning.
Essential Functions and Representative Duties

Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous Spanish language lessons that align with state standards and curriculum objectives.

Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and fosters language acquisition.

Experience in research based instructional strategies, best practices.

Demonstrated ability to integrate hands-on activities and Project-Based lessons.

Experience with competency or proficiency based learning systems.

Incorporate the use of technology, including interactive whiteboards, educational software, and online resources, to enhance instruction and engage students.

Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, diversity, and cultural understanding.

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in social studies education.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
Work Environment: Work is performed at Goodrich High School and may include other facilities of the district. There is limited exposure to physical risk.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between Goodrich Area Schools and Goodrich Education Association-MEA.
START DATE: August 18th, 2026 is the teacher’s first work day with the first day for students being on August 24th, 2026.
