Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen utensils, dishes, cookware, and food prep equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and safety guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools
- Support meal assembly and presentation by following menu plans and recipe specifications
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to maintain food safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate preparation of meals for service or catering events
- Follow cleaning schedules to keep work areas sanitized and organized in compliance with health regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen team members
- Experience in restaurant or catering settings is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Basic knife skills including slicing techniques are desirable for supporting food prep tasks
