American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 1+ years of adult critical care experience for a night shift position rotating between acute and long-term care settings.

Rotates between acute care and LTC settings for 3 twelve-hour shifts per week

Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings
-
Treats patients with CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections
-
Performs ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment, and pulmonary hygiene
-
Uses Hamilton, Servo-U, NKV330 (NIV device), AirVo2, Dream Machines, and V30 ventilators/equipment
-
Night shift, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:30

Every other weekend required
-
Call required approximately 1 night every other week, if possible

Patient ratio of 1:20

Floating required
-
RRT and BLS required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 1 year of experience required

Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required
-
Experience with endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement/suctioning, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/suctioning

Experience with hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizer therapy
-
Experience with bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, and trach collar oxygen therapy

Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, high pressure alarm troubleshooting, and ventilator weaning

Epic charting experience required

NY state license required for consideration; license required if applicable

Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

First-time travelers may be considered depending on level and type of experience

Provide comprehensive respiratory therapy services to adult critical care and emergency department patients across acute and long-term care settings

Scrubs must be any shade of gray or gray/black combination
-
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
-
Returning staff must wait 6 months system-wide before reapplying
-
Candidates cannot have more than 10 days of requested RTO
