Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: St. Marks, FL
Duration: 12-24 months W2 contract w/ possibility for extension

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and improve mechanical systems and equipment. This role involves hands-on problem-solving, collaboration with engineering teams, and application of mechanical engineering principles to ensure high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with effective communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, install, modify, and test tools, machines, engines, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other personnel to implement procedures and resolve system issues.
- Analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
- Specify system components or recommend modifications to ensure designs meet performance and safety standards.
- Investigate equipment failures and provide actionable recommendations to improve operation and reliability.
- Support prototyping, design optimization, and applied mechanics activities.
- Participate in design reviews and engineering documentation processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CAD software and computer-aided engineering (CAE) tools.
- Knowledge of applied mechanics, design engineering, design optimization, prototyping, and requirements analysis.
Preferred:
- Experience in mechanical design for manufacturing, testing, or aerospace/defense applications.
- Familiarity with maintenance procedures and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Experience with design review processes and collaborative engineering environments.
Pay: $60.00 - $70.00 per hour
