Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Cleaner to join our dynamic facilities team. Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of warehouse floors, aisles, and work areas using floor buffers and appropriate cleaning equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures.
- Conduct custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitation of surfaces to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Assist with facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs, painting, and upkeep of cleaning tools and equipment.
- Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks involving cleaning supplies or equipment, following safe lifting practices.
- Operate commercial cleaning machinery efficiently while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Support industrial cleaning efforts by managing specialized cleaning tasks in storage areas or production zones as needed.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Follow safety protocols consistently to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the warehouse remains clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in a warehouse or industrial setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
- Experience handling chemical agents safely in accordance with safety procedures.
- Knowledge of sanitation standards applicable to large facilities or warehouses.
- Background in industrial or heavy-duty cleaning tasks preferred.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safe practices.
- Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence related to facilities maintenance and chemical handling.
- Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when necessary.
- Previous porter or maintenance experience can be advantageous for supporting overall facility upkeep.
