Assistant Benefits Navigator

Key Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of the Social Services Delivery and Benefits Navigation serving NYCHA’s Nostrand and Sheepshead Bay Housing residents. Oversee implementation of all required service areas, including:
- Case Management and Care Coordination
- Emergency and Crisis Intervention
- Resource Navigation and Benefits Access
- Employment and Training Services
- Recreation and Community Programming
- Health and Wellness Programs and Services
- Serve as the primary liaison with NYCHA staff, resident leadership, property management, community organizations, healthcare providers, legal service providers, workforce development partners, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure services remain responsive to resident needs during modernization activities, including construction-related disruptions, temporary relocations, benefit interruptions, health concerns, and housing stability issues.
- Oversee resident outreach, engagement, and needs assessment activities, including collection and analysis of demographic information, service gaps, language access needs, and community priorities.
- Monitor program performance through data collection, outcome tracking, case management systems, resident feedback, and quality assurance reviews.
- Ensure accurate documentation of cases, service records, referrals, follow-up activities, and outcomes through the organization's case management systems.
- Prepare and oversee reports required by NYCHA, the Preservation Trust, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct regular program evaluations and implement service improvements based on performance data, resident feedback, tenant leadership input, and changing community needs.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, service standards, confidentiality requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in a related field (required)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in benefits assistance, social services, case management, or community-based support.
- Bilingual ( Spanish or Creole speaking) candidates are preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and management software

This position requires being based at 3043 Avenue W.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility based on program needs. In person
Salary
- $55,000 annual, commensurate with experience
