We specialize in social media management, content creation, and brand elevation for clients across the hospitality, restaurant, jewelry, consumer packaged goods, and medical industries.
Position Overview
We are seeking a talented freelance Video Editor to collaborate with our creative team on social media Reels and short-form videos. We will provide the footage, creative direction, and client brand guidelines, while the editor will bring each concept to life through thoughtful editing, text overlays, music, and sound design.
This is an independent contractor role with consistent monthly projects and the potential for additional work as Saltshine Creative and our client roster continue to grow. Applicants must currently live in Hawaii.
The ideal candidate has a strong creative eye, understands social media trends, and can adapt their editing style to complement each client’s unique brand and aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short-form videos and Reels using footage provided by Saltshine Creative
- Add on-screen text, transitions, music, sound effects, and intentional sound design
- Create engaging, polished edits optimized for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
- Adapt editing styles to suit clients across hospitality, restaurant, jewelry, CPG, and medical industries
- Stay current on social media trends, editing techniques, audio trends, and platform best practices
- Follow creative briefs, brand guidelines, and feedback accurately
- Organize project files and maintain a clear, efficient editing workflow
- Complete revisions promptly and incorporate feedback with a collaborative attitude
- Manage multiple client projects while consistently meeting deadlines
- Communicate clearly and professionally with the Saltshine Creative team
- Respond to emails, messages, and project updates in a timely manner
- Proactively communicate any questions, delays, or challenges that may affect a deadline
- Maintain client confidentiality and handle all footage and creative assets responsibly
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience editing social media Reels, TikToks, or other short-form video content
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creative, trend-forward video editing
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or comparable editing software
- Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, text placement, music selection, and sound design
- Excellent attention to detail and visual consistency
- Ability to learn and adapt to a variety of client brands and aesthetics
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, follow direction, and manage multiple deadlines
- Clear, reliable, and professional communication
- Receptive to feedback and comfortable completing revisions
- Must currently reside in Hawaii
Experience working with an agency, managing multiple brands, or editing content for hospitality, lifestyle, beauty, wellness, food, or product-based businesses is a plus.
