Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
AWS Cloud Expertise – Strong hands-on knowledge of core AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) with focus on scalability, high availability, and security.
CI/CD & Automation – Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline; strong emphasis on automation and reliability.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK to provision, manage, and version cloud infrastructure consistently.
Monitoring, Security & Cost Optimization – Ability to implement monitoring/logging (CloudWatch, Splunk, Sumo Logic), enforce security best practices, and optimize AWS costs.
Cloud Migration & Modernization – Experience leading application and data migrations to AWS, including legacy system modernization and performance optimization.
Team Leadership & People Management – Proven ability to lead DevOps teams, manage hiring, mentoring, training, performance reviews, and drive a culture of accountability and learning.
Delivery & Stakeholder Management – Strong skills in prioritization, estimation, dependency management, and collaboration with architects, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Incident, Risk & Change Management – Experience handling incidents, DR planning, change governance, and making sound decisions during high-impact operational events
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale cloud and IT infrastructure initiatives, collaborating with vendors, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and senior leadership to deliver complex programs successfully.
- Oversee task assignment, prioritization, and delivery for AWS Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and project timelines.
- Work closely with development teams, technical leads, architects, and business analysts to define technical direction and guide system design and implementation decisions.
- Drive the expansion and optimization of cloud technologies, ensuring cost-effective, scalable, and secure AWS solutions aligned with organizational needs.
- Lead discussions with cloud architects to evaluate AWS services and define solutions that best meet business, performance, and security requirements.
- Define and implement DevOps and CI/CD strategies, leveraging automation to improve deployment efficiency, system reliability, scalability, and security across AWS environments.
- Assess existing cloud infrastructure to identify critical gaps or risks and recommend both short-term tactical fixes and long-term strategic improvements.
- Lead cloud migration initiatives, partnering with SMEs and solution architects to deliver data and application migrations, including on-premises SQL to AWS RDS.
- Design and deploy highly available and fault-tolerant solutions using a broad AWS service stack (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, Glue, Athena, DMS), with a focus on auto-scaling and resilience.
- Ensure strong security and monitoring practices, including EC2 security group configuration, CloudWatch alarms, and compliance with security standards.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $135,000 a year
