Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare and review detailed journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and automation initiatives to streamline workflows.
- Oversee accounts receivable management, ensuring timely collection and accurate recording of customer payments.
- Maintain and update financial software systems such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms for seamless data entry and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques like formulas and VLOOKUP functions to support reporting needs.
- Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting while handling confidential information with integrity.
- Support payroll management through systems like ADP or UltiPro, ensuring accurate employee compensation processing.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with human resources on benefits administration and non-profit or governmental accounting as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, general ledger accounting, and journal entries.
- Extensive knowledge of financial software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, Kronos or similar systems.
- Familiarity with accounting concepts including accounts payable/receivable management, account reconciliation, payroll processing, and financial compliance standards.
- Experience working within public accounting firms or corporate environments with a focus on technical accounting practices.
- Strong analysis skills utilizing Excel spreadsheets—formulas like VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data analysis tools are essential.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in data entry (including 10 key typing).
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in performing account reconciliation and month-end closing activities.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations such as SOX compliance and governmental accounting standards is preferred.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments including human resources for benefits administration or HRIS systems like UltiPro or ADP.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience in a Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Controller, Finance Manager, or equivalent senior-level position.

Pay: $41.38 - $49.84 per hour
