American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, working night shifts with transplant and nephrology patient populations.

22-bed intermediate PCU/medical-surgical unit at a Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital
-
Primary patient population includes pre- and post-operative transplant (liver, kidney, kidney/pancreas), nephrology, and urology patients
-
Five bedside monitors available for closely monitored transplant patients; central monitoring system for step-down and telemetry rooms

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Every other weekend required, with holiday rotation

Patient ratio of 1:3–4 on nights
-
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

Epic EMR used
-
13-week contract
-
Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered, but must be licensed and active before starting

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or relevant RN experience required

Social Security card and driver's license required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position

Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis

Online modules must be completed prior to the start of the assignment

Scrub requirement: solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September

Holiday coverage is required as part of a rotation
-
Time-off requests exceeding 7 days or including holidays require facility approval and may delay the process
-
Block scheduling may be requested but is subject to manager and unit approval
