Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hotel Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hotel environment, ensuring exceptional food service for our guests. The ideal candidate will bring extensive culinary experience, particularly in fine dining and high-volume food production, with a strong focus on food safety and sanitation procedures. Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of menu items according to hotel standards and guest specifications
- Execute food preparation techniques including poaching, braising, grilling, and other cooking methods
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment
- Assist with menu planning and daily meal production for various dining services, including catering events
- Manage high-volume food production efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Handle food safely during preparation, storage, and service in compliance with industry regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of meals
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized dishes for dietary aides or specific dietary requirements
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and utensils at all times
- Participate in ongoing training related to food handling, safety management, and culinary techniques
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a line cook or similar role within the food industry, preferably in hotel or fine dining settings
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production processes
- Demonstrated skills in knife handling, food safety sanitizing procedures, and high-volume cooking environments
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team
- Culinary experience that includes food handling certifications or training is preferred
