Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience in both dealership and independent shop environments. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques. The Automotive Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that vehicles are in optimal working condition, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs.
- Diagnose and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, powertrains, and electrical systems.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues effectively.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems or necessary repairs.
- Work on various vehicle types including GM vehicles, diesel engines, and those equipped with Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS).
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and parts used for each vehicle.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while maintaining quality standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding their vehicle needs and repair options.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repair processes.
- Experience with schematics, transmissions, alignment, suspension systems, shocks & struts, tire service, brake repair, and welding is preferred.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues accurately.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.
