Duties
- Support lead teachers in planning and executing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in young children.
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, nap times, and special events to ensure safety and engagement.
- Assist with classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies aligned with school policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that fosters learning and safety; assist with setup and cleanup of materials and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, progress, and any concerns, fostering a collaborative partnership rooted in trust.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of every child; respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies.
- Support children with special needs or disabilities by implementing individualized plans under supervision and providing inclusive care that respects each child's unique abilities.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool, daycare center, nannying, babysitting, or similar childcare setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of child development instruction principles and early childhood education best practices is essential.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs enhances your ability to support diverse learners effectively.
- Certification in first aid and CPR (Pediatric First Aid preferred) is required; ongoing training in child safety protocols is expected.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and toddler care is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with parents, staff, and children while maintaining professionalism is vital.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws ensures compliance with legal requirements for child protection.
