One of our clients in the government domain is seeking an Epidemiologist to support the Tennessee Department of Health//'s Division of Family Health and Wellness and the Community Health Access and Navigation in Tennessee (CHANT) Initiative.

Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain enhancements to the CHANT data collection project, which combines HUGS, CSS, and TennCare Outreach into one overarching care coordination program.
- Utilize REDCap to build and maintain data collection modules that support programmatic requirements, evaluation, and program oversight.
- Assist with the integration of the CHANT program into a new data system.
- Prepare routine reports on program participation and outcomes for internal and external partners.
- Implement SAS code changes and REDCap project changes as monitoring guidance evolves or processes change.
- Provide technical assistance to non-technical staff regarding REDCap systems, SOPs, and task guidance.
- Write independent code and test outputs for accuracy.
- Pull, clean, and submit recurring CHANT reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Work closely with the MCH Programs Team to support MCH surveillance projects and create data outputs and visualizations for CHANT data.
- Respond promptly to data inquiries and provide CHANT data information to regional teams, leadership, stakeholders, and other public health partners.
- Fulfill ad-hoc data and analysis requests.
- Translate programmatic requirements into appropriate data collection solutions.
- Manage electronic data and navigate complex databases while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support system design, analysis, evaluation, deployment, and implementation activities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master//'s degree in epidemiology, public health biostatistics, statistics, or health information.
OR
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master//'s degree in health science, biomedical science, or environmental science, plus experience equivalent to two years of work experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, health informatics, health sciences, biomedical sciences, or environmental sciences.
Required Skills
- Extensive knowledge and experience with REDCap.
- Proficiency in statistical software programming, particularly SAS.
- Proficiency in managing electronic data and navigating complex databases.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Experience preparing, cleaning, analyzing, and reporting public health data.
- Demonstrated customer service and teamwork experience.
- Ability to work independently and write and test code for accuracy.
- Ability to provide technical assistance to non-technical staff.
- Ability to translate programmatic requirements into effective data collection systems.
- Ability to work remotely while supporting scheduled on-site requirements.
- Ability to respond effectively to ad-hoc data requests and changing program needs.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with public health and health data, including vital records or health survey data.
- Experience with deployment or implementation of application systems or a related field.
- Foundation in system design, analysis, and evaluation.
- Experience developing data visualizations and analytical outputs for public health programs.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM CST, 37.5 hours per week. The position requires travel to the Nashville office monthly or as needed. Applicants must be current Tennessee residents, and travel to Nashville is not reimbursable.
