Schedule Details/Additional Information:
- Full time, 36 hours a week
- 3- 12-hour shifts
- Nights, 7pm - 7am
- 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
Where You Will Work:
The LCH CVICU (pediatric cardiovascular intensive care unit) at Levine Children's Hospital recently expanded from a 10-bed unit to now 20 beds. This high acuity unit is currently ranked #8 in the country for Best Children's Hospital for Cardiology and Heart Surgery by U.S. News and World Report in 2025, making this the third consecutive year to be ranked within the top 10 programs in the nation. The staffing ratio is usually 1:1 or 1:2 and we care for a wide range of ages, from neonate to 18 years of age. Patient population includes the following: pre-op and post-surgical repair of congenital heart defects; heart transplant; ventricular assist devices; acquired heart disease; ECMO; CRRT; etc. Patients are monitored very closely until stable enough to be transferred to the 8th floor (Progressive Care).
We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS certification is required within 6 months of hire.
- One year of pediatric in-patient RN experience is preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

At 247 beds, LCH is the largest children’s hospital between Atlanta and Washington DC. It serves high acuity patients as the flagship children’s hospital within the innovative Atrium Health and offers a full complement of over 125 pediatric subspecialists in over 30 different pediatric specialties. We have 4 pediatric hospitalist teams, a newly expanded 24 bed PICU and 20 bed Cardiac ICU, an 85-bed Level IV NICU, and an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation floor. Levine Children’s Hospital is also Charlotte’s only Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. LCH has been named a Best Children’s Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for 18 consecutive years and is nationally ranked in 7 pediatric specialties.
