Retail Associate – Inventory & Operations
L’Angolino Gift Shop | Boston, MAPart-Time or Full-Time
L’Angolino Gift Shop is looking for a reliable, organized, and independent person to join our small retail team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys keeping a store organized, taking ownership of tasks, and making sure things get done without needing constant direction.
Because we are a small shop, we’re looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and can balance customer service with the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the store running smoothly.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing friendly and helpful customer service
- Opening and/or closing the shop
- Operating the Square POS system and handling transactions
- Receiving and organizing new inventory
- Entering new products and inventory into Square
- Creating, printing, and applying product labels and price tags
- Conducting inventory counts and identifying low-stock items
- Restocking and organizing merchandise on the sales floor
- Keeping backstock and storage areas neat and easy to navigate
- Maintaining attractive, well-stocked displays
- Helping keep the shop clean and organized
- Taking initiative on projects and daily tasks during slower periods
- Communicating inventory issues, customer feedback, and other important updates to management
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Dependable and trustworthy
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently
- Proactive and able to see what needs to be done without always being asked
- Friendly and confident interacting with customers
- Comfortable learning retail technology and POS systems
- Able to accurately handle inventory and repetitive organizational tasks
- Interested in becoming a reliable, long-term member of a small team
Previous retail, inventory, merchandising, or small-business experience is helpful, but we care just as much about reliability, organization, common sense, and willingness to learn.
Schedule: Part-time or full-time opportunities available. Weekend availability is a plus.
Pay: Competitive hourly pay based on experience and availability.
