Sales Trainer — Onsite, Downers Grove IL
Velocity Merchant Services is hiring an experienced Sales Trainer to coach our sales floor and ramp new reps fast. Onsite in Downers Grove (60515).

The Role
You'll own how our reps learn, ramp, and improve. You'll take new hires from day one to producing fast, and keep our veterans growing. This is hands-on coaching, not death-by-PowerPoint. If you can teach someone to handle an objection, read a merchant, and ask for the close — and you've done it in a real sales environment — we want to talk.
What You'll Do
- Build and run onboarding that gets new reps producing in weeks, not months
- Coach the sales floor daily — call reviews, live role-play, and side-by-side feedback
- Sharpen product knowledge: payment processing, rates, POS systems (Clover and others), and how to position VMS against the competition
- Drill the fundamentals — prospecting, discovery, objection handling, and closing
- Partner with managers to spot where reps stall and fix it
- Develop training materials, scripts, and playbooks that get used
- Track ramp time, close rates, and rep performance, and adjust to the numbers
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience training or coaching a sales team, ideally in a high-volume phone or floor environment
- A real sales background — you've carried a quota and closed
- Merchant services, payments, or financial services experience strongly preferred
- Ability to command a room and earn a rep's respect on day one
- Comfort with role-play, live coaching, and direct feedback
- Organized enough to build a curriculum, energetic enough to deliver it
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Salesforce or a comparable CRM
- Experience ramping reps in a commission-driven sales culture
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $50,000–$64,000, based on experience
