Job Overview
We are an independently-owned, brick & mortar salon seeking a passionate and energetic Groomer to join our dynamic pet care team! As a Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services that enhance the health, hygiene, and appearance of our furry clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine your love for animals with your grooming expertise, ensuring every pet leaves feeling happy, comfortable, and looking their best. Your dedication will contribute to creating a positive experience for both pets and their owners while maintaining the highest standards of animal care and safety. This is a W2 position, 50/50 split + tips. Earnings potential, with tips, ranges from $60K-$85K per year, depending on productivity.
Duties
- Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping tailored to each pet’s breed and individual needs
- Handle animals with care and patience, ensuring their comfort during grooming procedures
- Use animal restraint techniques safely to prevent injury and reduce stress during grooming sessions
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment by properly sanitizing tools, equipment, and grooming stations
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide recommendations for pet care
- Requirements
- Proven experience in pet grooming.
- Strong animal handling skills with the ability to manage dogs compassionately.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to lift animals or equipment safely
- Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with pet owners and address their needs confidently
- Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform grooming tasks throughout the day.
