What We Are Looking For
This position is a key part of our snow removal team. This position focuses on the safe and effective operation of heavy equipment, such as wheel loaders, trucks, and skid steers, to transport and effectively manage volumes of snow.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Load end dump trailers with snow to be removed from site

Use wheel loader to manipulate and transport snow

Use a skid steer to clear snow with either a bucket or broom in high traffic areas

Plow large parking lots with wheel loader or skid

Always adhere to stringent safety standards
- Communicate effectively

Other duties may be assigned.

Light Maintenance
Required Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
-
Must have a minimum of one year’s experience operating a wheel loader or skid steer

Must have valid state issued driver's license with no restrictions

Reliable transportation to downtown Minneapolis in inclement weather

Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, site maps, and memos

Maintain detailed job timesheet
- Ability to be alert and aware overnight
- Willing to always observe safety and security procedures; use equipment and materials properly

Is consistently at work and on time

Dependable and able to commit to long hours of work with short notice, when necessary and typically overnight, and multiple nights in a row
Desired Qualifications:

Willing to work overtime and in all weather conditions
What to Expect
This is a weather-dependent role that requires flexibility and reliability. Expect overnight shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime during snow events. You'll operate heavy equipment in cold, challenging weather conditions while following strict safety procedures to help keep roads and parking areas safe.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Conditions may vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than indicated here.
