Provides the day-to-day delivery of meals to elderly, homebound, disable, senior center and other persons, volunteer sites and/or congregate sites.
Deliver meals to clients within the required 10:30am – 1:30pm timeframe.
Accurately count meals and side items based on the day’s delivery route. Stock the vehicle to keep food hot or cold as required for food safety; including packing ice bags to use during delivery.
Mark confirmation of deliveries or indication that the client was not home. Complete all required information on route sheet or meal delivery portal.
Note any significant change in the condition of the client, whether physical or living conditions. Report on changes to Client Services department. Call 911 immediately if indicated by client condition, then notify management; wait with the client until assistance arrives.
Develop friendly, positive relationships with clients.
Maintain a standard of personal appearance and hygiene that is keeping with our client services and outlined in the organization policy.
Safely operate a fleet vehicle by obeying all applicable laws while delivering meals in a timely manner in accordance with guidelines of the Texas Administrative Code (TAC).
Maintain vehicle and food holding compartments in a clean and sanitary condition.
Perform weekly maintenance and safety checks on the fleet vehicle according to the schedule; report any vehicle issues immediately.
Be available to deliver meals outside of assigned route due to unforeseen absences or emergencies.
Other duties as assigned by management.
High school diploma or equivalent combination.
Must be comfortable with the elderly and be sensitive to their needs.
Ability to read and write in English, count, and have basic math skills and ability to communicate instructions effectively is required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Familiar with San Antonio and surrounding areas.
Must have reliable, personal vehicle and a valid Driver’s License, good driving record, and applicable insurance coverage required by the company policy.
Team player with the ability to work independently.
