Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across various heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, wheel alignments, and equipment lubrication to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabricate and modify parts using welding, hand tools, power tools, and schematics to meet specific operational needs.
- Repair and service farm machinery, industrial equipment, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Utilize detailed schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems accurately.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic or similar role within a dealership or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics with the ability to interpret schematics effectively.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery is preferred.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance apparatus.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignment, and HVAC servicing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environmental conditions.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Relevant certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), CDL (Commercial Driver’s License), or manufacturer-specific training are advantageous but not mandatory.
