We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join our team and help grow our business! The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, accruals and general ledger reconciliations in accordance to GAAP. This position will assist the Junior Controller in providing leadership to the rest of the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely financials are provided to support the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares accurate, timely month and year-end financial statements; prepare financial reports; prepare reports required by regulatory agencies, banks and other external parties as needed.
- General accounting functions including, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers, assisting with monthly and year end closing.
- Timely recording of biweekly payroll, monthly employee benefits and other payroll cost, pulls data for commission calculations and maintains rep trackers.
- Manages the monthly expense report process, handles cc forecasting and payment scheduling, and reallocates credit card expenses to proper GL accounts.
- Files sales tax returns and updates monthly sales tax forecast.
- Reviews operations calculations of customer rebate reimbursements and submits for approval and processing, including coordinating with AR Specialist past due balances.
- Maintains fixed asset and related depreciation schedules.
- Books recurring entries related to intercompany transactions and expense allocations.
- Prepares 1099s and delivers them to Auditor.
- Assists with budget preparation and cash forecasting.
- Assists annual audit preparation.
- Assists with special projects, accounting research, and ad hoc reporting as required.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience preparing month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and general financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
