About Breadcrumbs
Breadcrumbs is built by restaurant operators for restaurant operators.
We help independent restaurants understand what is happening in their business every day — sales, labor, food costs, invoices, and profitability — without waiting until the end of the month to find out whether they made money.
Our goal is simple: help restaurant owners spend less time chasing numbers and more time running a better, more profitable business.
We are growing locally and looking for a hungry, personable Business Development Representative to help us start conversations with restaurant owners and operators throughout the Greater Philadelphia and Chester County market.
The Role
This is a frontline sales role for someone who is comfortable picking up the phone, walking into restaurants, building relationships, and helping owners understand how Breadcrumbs can make their lives easier.
You will be responsible for identifying strong prospective restaurant partners, starting conversations, and booking qualified meetings for our leadership team.
This is not a scripted call-center job. You will be representing a local, operator-built company selling a product that solves real problems for restaurant owners.
What You’ll Do
- Prospect independent restaurants and small restaurant groups in the local market.
- Reach owners, operators, general managers, and other decision-makers through phone calls, emails, social outreach, referrals, and in-person visits.
- Clearly explain how Breadcrumbs helps restaurants improve visibility into labor, COGS, invoices, sales and profitability.
- Ask strong questions to identify whether a restaurant is a good fit.
- Schedule qualified discovery meetings for the sales team.
- Maintain accurate prospecting notes and follow-up activity in our CRM.
- Develop relationships with restaurant operators in the community.
- Share feedback from prospects so we can continuously improve our sales process and product messaging.
What Makes Someone Successful Here
You do not need years of software sales experience. You do need to be confident, dependable, organized and willing to put yourself out there.
This role may be a great fit for someone with experience in:
- Restaurant management, hospitality or catering sales.
- Beverage, food distribution, POS, payroll or restaurant vendor sales.
- Business development, outside sales or community outreach.
- Any customer-facing role where persistence and relationship-building matter.
You should be someone who:
- Is comfortable speaking with restaurant owners and managers.
- Can walk into a business, introduce yourself professionally and start a real conversation.
- Understands that follow-up is where sales happen.
- Is motivated by goals and commission.
- Communicates naturally and does not sound overly scripted or salesy.
- Is organized and comfortable using basic technology and CRM tools.
- Takes ownership and follows through.
Restaurant or hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
Compensation
- Base pay: $22–$25 per hour, based on experience.
- Commission: Uncapped commission for qualified meetings booked and held.
- Additional earning opportunity: Performance incentives and accelerators for consistently producing qualified meetings.
- Schedule: Approximately 25–30 hours per week to start, with a clear path to full-time based on performance and business growth.
A strong performer can reasonably earn $45,000–$60,000 annualized during the initial phase of this role, with additional earning potential as the position expands.
What Counts as a Qualified Meeting
We value quality over empty calendar invites.
A qualified meeting is a scheduled conversation with a restaurant owner, operator, general manager or other decision-maker at an independent restaurant or small restaurant group that has a legitimate need for better visibility into sales, labor, food costs, invoices or profitability.
