Job Summary:
We are a busy orthopedic therapy center seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. This will be a part-time permanent position, between 20 - 30 hours per week, with benefits that can convert into a full-time job with benefits.
Pay is based on experience.
Your role will involve assisting with therapeutic exercises, implementing treatment plans, and documenting patient progress.
Duties:
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans developed by Occupational Therapists
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities with patients
- Provide guidance and support to patients during therapy sessions
- Monitor and document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic techniques and exercises for at-home practice
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is preferred
- Knowledge of medical imaging, occupational health, anatomy, medical terminology, pediatrics, acute care, and physiology
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
