We are looking for a Dental Assistant to add to our growing team at Carmel Distinctive Dental. We are a general family dental private practice that sees all ages. This position is part time. Flexible on days/hours of the week. Our hours are currently M 8 am - 3 pm & T/W/Th 9 am - 5 pm. Experience is not required, new grads are welcome to apply! We will train the right candidate!
We are looking for a dental assistant to help treat patients as family and promote good oral health practices. If you have an upbeat personality and great bedside manner, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination
- Sterilize dental instruments properly
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history
- Give instructions to patients after operations or other dental procedures
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists with selecting appropriate treatments for various diseases (including oral cancer)
- Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
- Monitor supplies

Skills
- Proven experience as Dental Assistant or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Outstanding communication skills
- A patient and friendly personality
- Attention to detail
- Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
- Diploma in Dental Assistant or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
