Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Your expertise in handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and hazardous materials will ensure timely and secure deliveries while complying with all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailers with a valid CDL A license, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload freight, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods, following all safety protocols.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, planning optimal delivery paths for timely arrivals.
- Manage refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment for diverse cargo types such as freight, automobile transportation, or logistics cargo handling.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks, ensuring proper handling of heavy or hazardous items.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, or any issues encountered during transit.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Proven experience in delivery driving with knowledge of route driving across OTR routes.
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tankers, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks and handle manual loading/unloading tasks safely.
- Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries.
- Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance standards.
- Experience with logistics cargo handling equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Strong manual handling skills for safe loading/unloading operations; physical ability to lift heavy items when necessary.
