Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Generator Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of generator systems and related mechanical and electrical equipment. Duties
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on generators, including diesel engine repair and electrical systems diagnostics
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools
- Repair and replace engine components, mechanical systems, wiring, sensors, and control panels to ensure optimal generator performance
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when installing or servicing equipment using power tools, hand tools, welding, and soldering techniques
- Diagnose electrical faults in generator systems and implement effective solutions to restore functionality
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and diagnostic reports for each job performed
- Collaborate with team members and customers to ensure timely completion of repairs while providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with a focus on dealership experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, automotive repair, and heavy equipment maintenance
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, welding, soldering, and mechanical systems repair
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, and manual handling techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Mechanical knowledge of generator systems such as Caterpillar or similar brands is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong customer service orientation
- Valid technical certifications or relevant training in electrical or mechanical repair is advantageous
