The Performance & Reliability Technician plays a critical role in supporting HULK’s shop operations by leading refurbishment, assembly, and failure analysis (DIFA) of downhole sand-control and artificial-lift tools. This position supports production goals, mentors junior technicians, maintains inventory accuracy, and helps ensure all shop processes are completed safely and efficiently in accordance with company standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform and lead downhole tool DIFA and refurbishment processes while meeting production goals and quality standards.
- Performing the assembly and pressure testing for manufacturing production when needed within operations
- Ability to work and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build high-quality and functional test systems
- Work hands-on to get test systems functional and eliminate barriers to testing.
- Maintain testing equipment through scheduled maintenance and keep lab and testing areas clean.
- Support the development and improvement of refurbishment procedures, tooling, and documentation in partnership with operations and engineering teams.
- Train, mentor, and support Shop Technicians on assembly, refurbishment, safety practices, and company procedures.
- Assist with daily shop operations, including staging, tagging, storing, and organizing equipment and inventory.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound product shipments, including working with delivery vendors and updating company systems.
- Receive, inspect, label, and store returned customer and company-owned inventory.
- Support inventory cycle counts and ensure accurate documentation and tracking.
- Assist with product deliveries to customer locations when needed.
- Safely operate forklifts and lifting equipment to move tools, materials, and equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and follow all housekeeping and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with supervisors, team members, and other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in artificial lift, downhole tool assembly, refurbishment, manufacturing, or related oilfield service work.
- Experience performing DIFA or mechanical troubleshooting preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor technicians.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, or holidays based on business needs.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle shop materials and equipment.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Able to bend, reach, kneel, twist, and grip items safely during work activities.
- Manual dexterity and coordination to operate hand and mechanical tools effectively.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Capable of responding quickly to visual and verbal instructions.
