Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental 0ffice as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. In this energetic role, you will support dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure the highest standards of infection control, and create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Your proficiency in dental assisting, documentation, and clinic management will be vital to delivering exceptional dental services in a fast-paced, friendly setting.
Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
- Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, crown and bridge.
- Take digital dental X-rays
- Manage patient records using systems such as Dentrix, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform vital signs assessments and medical history updates to support comprehensive patient care
- Provide patient education on oral health practices and post-treatment instructions in clear, understandable language
- Support front desk operations by handling dental receptionist duties including appointment scheduling and patient check-in/out processes
- Answering the phone if needed.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Dental Assistant or RDA with current licensure where applicable
- Proven experience in general dentistry
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency with dental software such as Dentrix
- Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology, and medical coding is highly desirable
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and maintaining confidentiality of medical records and patient information
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists
