Position Summary
OfficeOps is looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and client-service-minded Bookkeeping Support Associate to join our small, remote team.
OfficeOps provides bookkeeping, payroll support, invoicing, and other financial operations services to small businesses and nonprofit organizations. We are looking for someone who enjoys helping clients, solving problems, staying organized, and working with financial information accurately and confidentially.
This is a part-time remote position, approximately 20 hours per week, with a set schedule. Greater New Orleans area candidates are preferred because our team meets in person periodically.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks such as data entry, digital filing of electronic receipts, updating bookkeeping records and entering transactions.
- Assist with client email follow-up and routing.
- Respond to client requests or escalate when needed.
- Help manage email/ticket queues.
- Follow up with payroll agencies, state agencies, and other systems.
- Send and track transaction clarification requests to clients.
- Update transactions based on client responses.
- Help retrieve bank statements or resolve login/access issues.
- Support client onboarding and offboarding tasks.
- Maintain clear documentation of assigned work, track timesheets
- Work across systems such as Quickbooks, Gusto, Zendesk, ClickUp, Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, and Chrome.
- Attend internal meetings.
What We’re Looking For
The right person will be organized, trustworthy, patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable using technology. Strong written communication, sound judgment, and discretion with confidential client financial information are essential. You do not need to be a senior accountant, but you do need enough bookkeeping knowledge to understand financial workflows and communicate clearly with clients and team members.
Compensation and Benefits
- 20 hours per week, $24 per hour
- Set weekday schedule required; 5 days/4 hrs. a day or 4 days/5 hrs. a day
- Remote role; availability on Microsoft Teams required during scheduled work hours.
