ABOUT PETIT POT
Petit Pot is a Certified B Corporation crafting organic, French-inspired desserts with a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, and our people. Every pot of pudding starts with our production team — and we're proud to offer a workplace where safety, fairness, and good food come together. Join us in making something you can be proud of.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Production Worker at Petit Pot, you are at the heart of what we do. You play a key role in crafting our organic French-inspired desserts by operating production machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety, and actively contributing to a team that is proud of what it makes.
This role requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Petit Pot’s food safety program. As part of a Certified B Corporation, you are also expected to support our environmental and social commitments — including waste reduction, responsible resource use, and respectful collaboration with every member of the team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Equipment Operation & Line Management
Set up, operate, monitor, and shut down production line equipment according to SOPs, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe operation throughout the shift.
Perform line changeovers, format adjustments, and basic equipment troubleshooting; escalate unresolved issues to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance team.
Use panel-view controls, scales, hand tools (knives, band cutters, water hoses), and pallet jack (after training) as required by the position.
Cross-train on different line positions and equipment as assigned, building versatility to support the team during absences or volume peaks.
Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality; consistent presence is essential for shift coverage and production continuity.
GMP Compliance & Food Safety
Strictly follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times: proper handwashing, correct PPE use (hairnet, beard net if applicable, nitrile gloves, lab coat, slip-resistant shoes), and compliance with hygiene and personal conduct policies on the production floor.
Follow the company’s Food Safety Plan (HACCP-based) and Allergen Control Program; never bypass or modify food safety procedures.
Immediately report any food safety or quality concern, potential contamination, foreign material, or unusual equipment behavior to the Production Supervisor or QA Technician — do not continue production if in doubt.
Participate in GMP training, food safety refreshers as required.
Quality Control & Documentation
Perform regular quality checks throughout the shift (weight, fill level, seal integrity, label accuracy, appearance) and make machine adjustments as needed to stay within specification.
Keep accurate and legible production records.
Support the QA Technician during internal and external audits (SQF, customer, regulatory) by maintaining a clean, documented, and audit-ready workstation at all times.
Continuous Improvement & B Corp Values
Actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts: flag inefficiencies, share ideas for reducing waste or improving quality, and embrace process changes with a positive attitude.
Support Petit Pot’s environmental commitments on the floor: minimize water and energy use, sort waste correctly, avoid unnecessary product loss, and respect raw material handling procedures.
Treat every colleague with respect and professionalism; actively support a team culture of inclusion, fairness, and mutual accountability — core to Petit Pot’s B Corp values.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing, production, or packaging environment preferred; experience with refrigerated or dairy/dessert products is a plus.
- Working knowledge of GMP, food safety practices, and basic HACCP principles.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English; basic reading and math skills for production documentation.
- Ability to wear all required PPE (hairnet, beard net if applicable, nitrile gloves, lab coat, safety glasses, slip-resistant shoes/boots) throughout the shift.
- Experience using basic hand tools (knives, band cutters, scales, water hoses) and panel-view controls.
- Team-oriented mindset with a genuine commitment to quality, food safety, and continuous improvement.
