Growth Marketing & Brand Development Manager
Sunrose California Eatery | Agoura Hills, CA
Full-Time | Primarily On-Site
This Is Not a Traditional Marketing Manager Position
If you're looking for a role centered around posting on social media, checking marketing boxes, or waiting for direction, this probably isn't the right fit.
We're looking for a builder—someone who takes ownership, creates momentum, builds partnerships, develops systems, and measures success by business growth, not marketing activity.
About Sunrose
Sunrose California Eatery is a Southern California restaurant, café, bar, market, and gathering place built around seasonal ingredients, predominantly scratch-made food, genuine hospitality, and creating unforgettable guest experiences.
We generate more than $4.5 million in annual sales, but we believe we're only scratching the surface. We've built an exceptional breakfast and lunch business. Our next chapter is becoming equally known for dinner, cocktails, catering, private events, and hospitality.
Why This Role Exists
We've outgrown our current approach to growth. Too many people still think of Sunrose as 'a great breakfast place that also serves dinner.' We're hiring someone to change that perception through measurable business growth.
If, one year from now, more people choose Sunrose for dinner, our partnerships are generating new guests, catering and events have grown, and the community talks about us differently, you'll know you've succeeded.
What You'll Build
This role is responsible for building the growth engine behind Sunrose.
- Brand development and positioning
- Community, business, hotel, school and nonprofit partnerships
- Guest acquisition and loyalty (CRM)
- Email marketing
- Social media strategy and execution
- Photography, video and graphic design
- Website management
- Dinner and bar awareness
- Catering and private event marketing
- Podcast and influencer relationships
- Internal marketing systems
- Analytics and growth strategy
What Success Looks Like
Success isn't measured by likes or followers. It's measured by business results.
Within your first year we expect meaningful progress in:
- Dinner awareness and dinner traffic
- Alcohol sales
- Catering and private event inquiries
- Community partnerships
- Guest loyalty and repeat visits
- Staff engagement in promoting the brand
- Systems that continue producing measurable growth long after they're built.
Who Thrives Here
People who thrive here are naturally curious. They take ownership without being asked. They build relationships, ask better questions, execute, follow through, balance creativity with data, and create momentum instead of waiting for direction.
This Role Probably Isn't Right For You If...
- You're looking for a traditional marketing position.
- You think marketing begins and ends with social media.
- You prefer maintaining systems instead of building them.
- You need constant direction.
- You avoid accountability or follow-through.
- You want someone else to create the plan.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This isn't simply an opportunity to grow one restaurant. It's an opportunity to help build the growth platform for a hospitality company. The systems, partnerships, marketing strategies, and community relationships you create will become the blueprint for future locations, brands, and concepts. There is significant opportunity to grow as the company grows.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary (anticipated $70,000–$90,000 DOE), paid time off, employee dining benefits, professional development, and long-term career growth.
To Apply
Please submit your resume and answer the three application questions. Candidates selected for the next step will receive our Growth & Brand Development Manager Role Blueprint & Hiring Brief, which provides a detailed overview of the role, expectations, and long-term opportunity.
One Final Thought
We're not looking for someone to market Sunrose.
We're looking for someone who wants to help build what Sunrose becomes next.
If that excites you more than the job title itself, we'd love to hear your story.
