SALARY RANGE $209,000 - $266,000/year
DUTIES As a successful candidate for the Software Engineer III role, you will work directly with CNMF operators and analysts to learn their mission. You will work directly with our six existing DATs to learn the ropes, get a feel for existing solutions, and be indoctrinated with our mission-focused, fast-paced culture. You will work directly with our AI/ML team to get up-to-speed on their infrastructure, analytics platform, LLM and RAG offerings, and analytics capabilities. Finally, use your stellar development skills to mix and match and create some new things of your own to have maximum impact and make an EXCELLENT first impression.

- Respond to software shortcomings reported by users of existing applications. Watch people use your tool, notice what could be better, and fix it without them asking
- Gather requirements and rapidly develop new prototype tools/solutions that help customers do their jobs more efficiently
- Start with vague requirements, identify and iterate with SMEs to build something special
- Understand the CNMF mission, collaborate with team members, gather user requirements, and automate workflows
- Identify opportunities to leverage existing DAT and AIMASSIST capabilities for our new customer, successfully communicate with and integrate with those teams to apply them to this new mission. Implement features effectively across multiple code bases
- Establish customer rapport, communication cadence, means of prioritization, and effectively capture and make visible your impact on the mission
- Hone an effective, easy-to-use LLM and RAG experience that will be used by your immediate CNMF customer and many, many others
QUALIFICATIONS Twelve (12) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

- Passion for user experience and maintaining quality as your user base grows
- Experience building amazing user interfaces (particularly with React and Next.JS, but knowledge of any modern UI library is highly valued!)
- Knowledge of modern middleware frameworks (comfort using something along the lines of Express, Flask, Spring, FastAPI, etc.)
- Comfort with basic computer administration including software installation, system configuration, and networking. Comfort with git and automated build pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.)

NICE-TO-HAVES
- Passion for observability (Elastic, APM, Grafana, etc.)
- Experience integrating software with a Large Language Model (LLM)
- Experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
- Production-grade software development experience with Python
- Service containerization and deployment with Docker and Kubernetes or Swarm
- Experience building prototypes and understanding the value of frequent iterations and user feedback
- Previous experience working with CNO, USCC, CNMF, or some form of cybersecurity-related past
- Experience with any of Elasticsearch, Kibana, Grafana, Redis, Kafka, Nginx, AWS, HAProxy. Experience integrating open-source models and technologies
- Excellent Jira hygiene
