Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom activities for toddlers and infants, ensuring a stimulating and nurturing environment that supports their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, early intervention strategies, and basic math concepts to foster holistic growth.
- Manage classroom routines including diapering, feeding, nap times, and playtime while maintaining a safe and clean environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive social interactions and address challenges effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns, fostering strong partnerships built on trust and transparency.
- Document child development progress through assessments, standardized testing results, and detailed reports to inform instructional planning.
- Ensure adherence to mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings, including toddler care and preschool teaching.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood education best practices, and classroom management techniques.
- Expertise in curriculum development tailored to infants’ and toddlers’ unique learning needs.
- Familiarity with special education strategies and early intervention programs to support diverse learners.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners effectively.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, physical activity (including experience teaching physical education), and math concepts suitable for young learners.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety is required.
- Experience managing classroom behavior through positive reinforcement techniques while maintaining compliance with health regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of educators by providing mentorship, guidance, and support for ongoing professional development.
