SUMMARY: This is primarily a Material Handler role. The number one priority of this position is ensuring the production floor has all materials needed to operate without interruption, on a daily and weekly basis. All other responsibilities, including shipping clerk duties, are secondary to this core function. During periods of reduced material handling activity, this individual will transition to shipping clerk duties including order processing, label generation, and shipment tracking. Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands of a warehouse environment as this is first and foremost a hands-on material handling position.
HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
PRIMARY DUTIES - MATERIAL HANDLER:
- Ensure the production floor is fully stocked with all materials needed for daily and weekly operations - this is the top priority of the role
- Safely move, organize, and track raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse and production floor
- Receive incoming shipments, verify quantity and condition against purchase order and packing slip, and complete required receiving documentation
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment, verifying correct product, quantity, and lot number against the sales order
- Perform inventory cycle counts as scheduled or directed
- Put away finished products and incoming materials to designated shelf locations
- Assist in the loading and unloading of outgoing and incoming shipments
- Break down incoming shipments prior to QA inspection as required
- Ensure materials are properly tagged and organized at all times
- Operate forklift as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Perform other tasks as directed by management
SECONDARY DUTIES - SHIPPING CLERK (As Needed):
- Generate shipping labels for UPS and FedEx and create Bills of Lading as required
- Process shipments in accordance with sales orders
- Track shipments as needed
- Support shipping desk operations during downtime
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Forklift certified or willingness to be trained and certified within 30 days of hire
- 1 to 2 years of related warehouse or material handling experience, or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and shipping software such as UPS and FedEx
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance or appropriate equipment
- Exposure to warehouse environment including variable temperatures and moving equipment

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
