We are seeking a dependable and motivated Weekend Cook to prepare and serve nutritious meals for clients in our residential and detox programs.
This full-time position works Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Weekend Cook plays an important role in supporting the health and well-being of our clients by preparing quality meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve three nutritious meals daily for Residential and Detox clients.
- Prepare and pack lunches for PHP clients at our Main Street outpatient location.
- Follow approved menus and accommodate dietary restrictions and food allergies.
- Ensure food is prepared, stored, and served in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including equipment, dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas.
- Receive, inspect, organize, rotate, and store food and supply deliveries.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify leadership of supply needs.
- Maintain required temperature logs, cleaning records, and other food service documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the Chef and kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service.
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and food preparation areas.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of food service or cooking experience preferred.
- Food Handler Permit and/or ServSafe® certification preferred or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, dietary restrictions, and food allergies.
- Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards.
- Negative TB test required.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
