American Traveler is hiring a RN Flex Pool nurse for a Med/Surg and Step Down float position requiring an active HI RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Flex RN role floating between various medical and surgical units
-
Primary floating units include Medical, Laulima (Surgical Acute), and on rare occasions Cardiovascular
-
Medical unit has 77 beds, Laulima has 18 beds, and Cardiovascular Unit has 15 beds
-
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6 for days/evenings and 1:8 for nights on the Medical unit, 1:6 on Laulima, and 1:4 on Cardiovascular

Ratios may vary due to unexpected staff leaves
-
Uses Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
-
12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
-
Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
-
No guarantee of hours

Active HI RN license required by start of assignment

BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications preferred

2-10 years of nursing experience required

Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted

Provide nursing care while floating across Medical, Surgical, and occasionally Cardiovascular units

Orientation time provided for each unit

Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to start of assignment

Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health on Friday morning

Professional nursing attire required, including clean scrubs
