Overview:
This is a school year job and you would work 185 days from Aug-June. Work begins Aug 19th, 2026.
We are seeking an assistant teacher for one of our mixed aged primary classrooms (2.5-6yrs old). We are looking for a long-term hire to work with the lead teacher in creating a lasting community for the children who remain in the same class for three years.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the lead teacher on creating and maintaining an authentic Montessori environment.
- Supervise the room while the lead gives individualized lessons.
- Prepare and serve snack
-Support the children in their social and emotional growth and development
Requirements:
-Early Childhood Education short certificate or equivalent (If your degree is in progress that is acceptable)
-WA State 30 hour basic training (this is required for all licensed childcare jobs in WA, and you can take it free through the Department of Early Learning prior to your start date)
-WA State food handler’s card
-Negative TB test
-Background check through MERIT
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.13 - $22.00 per hour
