Overview
Van Buren County Hospital is seeking an experienced and collaborative Patient Access Manager to lead our Patient Access team. This leadership position oversees registration, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and revenue cycle support while ensuring exceptional service from a patient's first interaction with our organization.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Patient Access team, including Registration, Scheduling, Referrals, and Authorization staff.
- Oversee patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorization processes.
- Partner with Revenue Cycle, providers, and clinical departments to improve patient access, operational efficiency, and reimbursement outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission, Section 1557, and payer requirements.
- Lead departmental projects focused on workflow improvements, EHR optimization, operational efficiency, and organizational initiatives.
- Monitor departmental quality, productivity, patient satisfaction, and key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the organization's Section 1557 Coordinator.
Qualifications
Required
- Five or more years of progressive healthcare experience in Patient Access, Registration, Revenue Cycle, or a related field.
- Experience with insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Two or more years of supervisory or management experience.
