About Us:
A Better Way of Living Inc. provides a variety of support services to adults with developmental disabilities in the Albuquerque Metro area. Our Direct Support Professionals provide support services to promote and develop independence, communication, social skill development, job skills training, community involvement and daily life skills.
New Mexico Developmental Disability Waiver services are an extremely stable career field for anyone seeking a long-term career in New Mexico and also great work experience for students seeking degrees in social work, psychology, sociology and other human services!
You will work directly with individuals with various disabilities and support needs. Paid training is provided throughout your employment with us and you will be able to apply this knowledge to help individuals achieve their goals in life. Long-term career opportunities exist within this field, and many of our staff go on to career roles in legal guardianship, case management, behavioral therapy, working directly for the state and of course, to management and administration roles right here with us as we promote from within.
Our services are provided on a 24/7 basis, so a wide variety of schedules is available to suit your individual and family needs, school schedule, or even to work part-time around another career. Starting rates with no experience begin at $16.25 hourly and range up to $18.00 hourly for Direct Support Professional roles. And of course, there are often opportunities to move up into other roles as you gain experience.
Necessary Requirements For Employment:
- Ability to pass criminal records check
- Ability to attend 10 days of paid new hire training
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 year of age or older
- Must possess a valid New Mexico Driver's License and Insurance
